Bio
Marco Russo
Born in 1991 near Naples, Marco Russo has always loved drawing, painting, and comics. From his early school years, he began to acquire skills and receive recognition. Expressing himself and communicating through these mediums became his way of life. He attended the "A.Passaglia" Art Institute in Lucca (the city of comics) for high school, where he met Simone Bianchi (a world-renowned artist) who helped him improve. He collaborated with him on coloring the story of Doctor Doom in issue #1 of Fantastic Four (Marvel), in "Sharkey: The Bounty Hunter" (Netflix), and in other projects. On January 1, 2018, he opened his Creative Studio where he handles 360ยฐ image creation: from classic painting to advertising graphics, from comics to design. In recent years, he has participated in over 70 industry events with his stand in Italy, Europe, and the United States. In 2020, for Edizioni Chartesia, he created 3 oil paintings for a new version of Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy." The ambitious project was premiered during OPEN STUDIO ONLINE, a live broadcast that Marco, from his studio, produced in collaboration with Lucca Comics during the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Those paintings, and others, have been featured in several exhibitions. In 2023, between the Chicago (C2E2) and New York (NYCC) events, his solo exhibition "Inside My Mind" was inaugurated at the "Il Germoglio" Gallery. In 2024, he created the graphic novel "Vino Generoso" by Italo Svevo (PV Edizioni). In 2025, he began working as an art director and visual designer to renew the design and marketing communication of several leading Italian companies and brands. He taught drawing and comics and created the comic "EGADS: Red Dawn Rising" for Whaleden Comics. In 2026, he began creating his first original graphic novel! Marco has also created covers for books and comics, for music tracks, advertising images, graphic novels, board games, event posters, graphics for products and companies, and much more!
