Born in 1991 near Naples, Marco Russo has always loved drawing, painting, and comics.
From his early school years, he began acquiring skills and receiving recognition.
Expressing and communicating through these media became his way of life.
He attended high school at the “A. Passaglia” Art Institute in Lucca (the city of comics), where in 2009 he met Simone Bianchi (world-renowned Marvel artist), who helped him improve.
He collaborated with him on the coloring of the Doctor Doom story in Fantastic Four #1 (Marvel, 2018), on Sharkey: The Bounty Hunter (Netflix), and on other projects.
On January 1st, 2018, he opened his Studio Creativo, dedicated to 360° image creation: from classical painting to advertising graphics, from comics to design.
Over the years, he has taken part in more than 50 events with his stand in Italy, Europe, and the United States.
In 2023, for example, between the Chicago event (C2E2) and the one in New York (NYCC), he began new collaborations such as with the well-known art dealer Anthony’s Comic Book Art and with the proudly Italian Art Gallery of Roma. Shortly after, his solo exhibition “Dentro la mia mente” (“Inside My Mind”) was inaugurated at the Il Germoglio Art Gallery in Tuscany. Marco has also created many book covers, advertising images for companies, graphic novels, music covers, board games, event posters, and more. Among his other works: in 2020, for Edizioni Chartesia, he produced three canvas paintings for a new edition of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy. The ambitious project was presented as a world premiere during OPEN STUDIO ONLINE, the live broadcast Marco produced from his studio in collaboration with Lucca Comics during the Covid-19 lockdown. Those paintings, along with others, have been featured in several exhibitions. In 2024, he illustrated the graphic novel Vino Generoso by Italo Svevo (PV Edizioni), and starting in 2025 he has been serving as art director to revamp the design and communication of several brands.
